Kids in Vegas

Here are some various pictures of the kids. They had a good time but I am looking forward to taking a trip to Vegas without them. I have been there 3 times and yet to see anything I wanted to. They dont want to look at all the hotels and walk inside them. Any offers to babysit are being taken at the moment. Come on...there are only 4 of them.

A month with the IN-LAWS

I survived!! No...it actually was fine. The kids loved having them here and were very sad to see them go. Austin gave up his room for a month to let them stay in there and he slept in Jilliann's room on an air mattress. He said he would gladly stay on the air mattress to keep Grandma and Grandpa here. It was sweet. They were a fabulous help with Jilliann...she loves her Grandpa and his yodeling. I was able to do all my running around with the bigger boys without having to tow her along. Grandma cooked lots of good homemade stuff (that the kids wouldnt eat!) and spent her time teaching Jilliann to crawl. She is so close now. Darn! Both Grandma and Grandpa had to learn the X-Box game "Monkey Ball" to keep Christian happy. Grandma even started to play on her own when Christian wasnt looking. They are back in Alaska now and getting used to the cold. Hey...it was 82 degrees here today! HA HA.

Christian VS. Treadmill

I FINALLY decided to start exercising so on Friday morning (10/27) I got up and ran a mile on the treadmill. When I was done Christian asked if he could play cars on it. The boys like to watch their race cars slide down the belt while it is on. He was playing for a while then I heard some screaming. Now, in my house you never respond on the first 2 screams. By the 3rd scream I knew he was hurt so I ran over to him. He was pinned between the end of the belt and a dresser. The belt was still running so his skin was being eaten away. We are on day 3 and he is still pretty sore. AHHH...another quiet day in paradise! I guess the lesson learned here is that I should stay fat because exercising is dangerous to those around me.

Holiday in Kuwait

Andrew came home for a visit before being shipped out for his holiday vacation... better known as his war tour. We went to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. We kept him busy to keep his mind off things and had a fun time doing all kinds of stuff. We went to a Midevil Times dinner, lots of buffets, the Adventure Dome in Circus Circus and stayed at the Aladdin Hotel. John's parents were visiting too so we had a load of people. We also went on a tour of the Hoover Dam.

As soon as Andrew returned to Mississippi he was told they were shipping out in 2 days. He rushed to get ready and was on his way before any of us could process the reality. He is in Kuwait right now and we are praying hard he stays there as it is the safer place to be. He is in good spirits and adjusting to the dust and heat okay. I will post his address when I get it but for now here is his e-mail...

She is 6 months!

I cannot believe how fast 6 months has gone. It makes me sad but seeing her changes every day is very fun. At her appointment she weighed in at 19 pounds 14 ounces (97%) and is 27 3/4 inches long (97%). She is quickly venturing into the 12 month clothes. She is now rolling over both directions and getting up on her hands and knees. She can scoot herself along but hasnt quite got the hand motion together yet to crawl. I am sure it will be soon though. I bought her a jumpy toy and she loves it. She likes to stand and be a big girl so this toy works out nice. She just started eating rice cereal at night and likes to drink water. The boys still think she is the greatest thing ever...just wait until she is able to crawl and get into all their stuff!!

Killer

I got these pictures from Andrew today. Christian was looking at them with me and said "there is Andrew with a shotgun!" First off, it is scary that Christian would know of such a thing. Too much HALO for sure. Then he said "I bet he is going to go shoot all the bad guys." Little does he know the reality of what he said. Again, too much HALO. LOL Anyway, Andrew is so grown up and handsome. We get to see him for 10 days in early October which will be the last time before he heads to Iraq. It will be a bittersweet visit. On one hand I am so thankful we get to see him again and on the other I already said goodbye once and know this time will be even harder. I am NOT looking forward to that part.

Big Girl

No, this isnt about me again! I took Jilliann to the doctor yesterday for her 4 month check up (although she is almost 5 months old). She is perfect, of course. She weighs 17 pounds 8 ounces (95 percentile) and she is 26 1/4 inches long (95 percentile). Her head was small...only in the 50 percentile. How come the one baby I have via C-section has a small head?? Then there was Justin with his big 'ole noggin. Anyway, she got 4 shots and was none too happy. She is going to be out of her infant car seat in another month or so and we will have to buy a new one. It will be pink and probably expensive but I will buy it anyway. Sorry John.

Holy Fatman

Ok...so we went to my Grandparents assisted living home for a dinner. No kids (yeah) and all the cousins were there. We took some pictures with everyone since we never know when it will be the last time we all are together. Sad thought but true. Anyway, at church today Mom brings out some copies of the pictures. HOLY CRAP!!! I am huge. I cannot believe how big I have gotten. I prefer to live in my own world believing I am not "that" fat. Geez. I hate reality. I like it better when I take the pictures. It doesnt help I was standing next to Dena who is tall, thin and completely fit. Next time I am standing next to Chris. At least he still looks like a linebacker. I can join him on the field now!

Well, I am off to go drown my sorrows in strawberry milk and cookies! That should help.

Kodiak

Our dog Kodiak is a golden lab. He loves to swim and play all the time. Unfortunately, this just creates more chaos and issues for the house. As I type Austin is screaming and yelling as they wrestle. Oh joy. Anyway, Kodiak loved our trips to Big Bear and the beach where he could swim and play fetch for hours. Wish we had more room here for him but he enjoys vacations.

My Little Princess

Jilliann is so fabulous. She is getting big and growing way too fast. I wish she would slow down. She is 4 months now and it is a great age. Her smiles melt all our hearts and the boys fight over her as if she were the prized posession of the house. I take her for her 4 month well baby next week and look forward to seeing what she weighs. She is in 6-9 month clothes for the most part so I am sure she is close if not over 20 pounds. I grow 'em big! Here she is in her new pretty pink highchair and at the pool yesterday. She has come a long way from being under the hood when first born.

Mobilization

Andrew is in Camp Shelby, Mississippi right now getting ready to head to Iraq the end of October. He is able to call often and email whenever he wants right now. Dont know what it will be like once he is in country. We are praying for his safety and peace. I will keep you updated on his happenings and address when we get them. Here he is goofing around with his buddy. Andrew...always the commedian.

Kicked Out

Christian is in school now (Pre-K) and we took bets on how long it would be before we were told he was too rough or something like that. I won!! I said after the first day we would get the talk and indeed we did. Yeah!! They said he was a very young 4 year old (as he just had his birthday less then a month ago) and maybe wasnt ready to be in that class. He doesnt want to listen and follow directions. No! Cant imagine!! We are going to give him another week or so and see if he adjusts. If not we will send him down to the 3 year old class which is fine with me. He is a boy afterall and we know they tend to mature at a slower pace. LOL It was funny though that it only took a day.

Sex Education

So, I decided that Austin and I should have "THE TALK". He is 12 and although he may not be 12 mentally he is physically. I researched on-line about talking to kids with mental issues and was ready. The talk went well and he handled everything the way I expected. Then we talked about where babies come from. I asked if he wanted to know the details and he said yes so I told him. After I told him the husband puts his penis in the wife's vagina his eyes got real big and he made a horrible face and said "EWWW! I am totally going to adopt!"

I tried so hard not to laugh. I did a little. John and I laughed forever about it later that night. Now whenever John is in the mood I tell him we are going to adopt instead! Poor Austin...so innocent right now.

Grand Canyon with Corey

John and Corey's trip to the Grand Canyon was quite eventful. They both about died trying to hike the 10+ miles the first day they got there. Duh! It was good for them to spend some time together without the little one's. Male bonding. Besides, I wouldnt want to hike with all the kids!!

Yeah School!

The boys first day of school. Austin is in 6th grade, Justin is in 2nd grade and Christian is in Pre-K 3 days a week for 2 1/2 hours. YEAH SCHOOL!!!

I don't usually stay commited to this kind of stuff but everyone is doing it! Guess I want to be part of the crowd. Add this to your favorites and check back on occasion as I will update pictures and things going on in our crazy house. It will be a good way to keep track of all the kids and their lives. Now I HAVE to remember to take pictures when we do something.
